2007 Workshops

We’ve completely revamped the program for 2007 in order to offer some real interesting and educational stuff, and to stop Gary from getting bored out of his mind doing the same stuff over and over again . . .

If you want to come up and join us, please read this thoroughly.

  1. In 2007 we’ll be focusing on lots of comparative tastings of various brands of spirits within each category.
  2. We’ll learn not only about the differences between brands, but also how to work with varying styles of tequilas, gins, vodkas, scotches, bourbons, ryes, piscos, rums, cognacs, etc., when making and creating cocktails. Should be lotsa fun, huh?
  3. In order to accomplish above we’ve extended the workshops. They will now run from:

Sunday early evening (You’ll have to be on the Upper West Side of Manhattan at around 6:00 p.m. for pick-up.)

    until

Tuesday early evening (We’ll drop you off in the same spot at around 7:30 p.m.--maybe a little earlier)

Serious Stuff

In order to qualify to attend a workshop you must:

  1. Be employed within the hospitality industry (bar, restaurant, hotel, etc.) within the U.S.A.*
  2. Be 21 years of age or older at the time of the class
(Yes, we card you if you’re young-looking. And sometimes if you’re not.)
  3. Fill out the form at the bottom of this page (and accept the disclaimer).

Nitty Gritty

This stuff is serious, too . . .

  1. We’ll be holding more workshops in the summer, but for the time being we’re offering six classes in March/April/May 2007.
  2. Pick from the dates below and tell us what works best for you in the box marked “Additional Info.”
  3. Try to give more than one date that will work for you.
  4. Rooms are double occupancy, so it’s always good to get a friend who works in the business to apply for the same class. Please indicate your friend’s name in the “additional info” box, and have them fill out the form, too. We’ll do our best to accommodate you.
  5. Driving to Painter’s instead of taking the limo with everyone else is not a good idea. If you absolutely insist on driving, we ask that you request an extra night at Painter’s ($70 per room).
  6. If you are accepted in one of our workshops you’ll have to pay a $100 non-refundable registration fee in order to clinch the deal.
  7. Everything else--transportation from and to Manhattan, accommodation, food and drinks (within reason), and tuition--is made possible by our wonderful sponsors at some of the best liquor companies in the country.

Dates for 2007 Workshops

We reserve the right to change or cancel dates at a moment’s notice. (But we won’t do that after we confirm your spot unless something really, really terrible happens.)

The next Cocktails in the Country: For Marketing Professionals will be held in the fall of 2007. We'd also be happy to discuss tailoring the workshop to your company's needs.

Now, if we haven’t bored you to death by this point, please fill out the form and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible.

Ooops.... Sorry. The 2007 classes are full! Watch the newsletter for news of more workshops.

Please remember to drink safely and responsibly.
